Partnering with regional systems integrator Majwa Group, they chose Brainstorm to bring its news graphics and on-air presentation to world-class level.</p>

<p>Tesseract Esports was founded in 2015 to elevate and transform the nascent gaming scene in South and Southeast Asia into a high profile and professional esport. Tesseract were also among the first to produce the biggest and most successful esports events and gaming activations in India at an unprecedented scale, paving the way for the growth of esports in the country. They have since gone to partner with game publishers, developers, brands and media platforms to produce large scale esports events and engagements and become one of the leading esports production houses in the Asia-Pacific.</p>
<p>For the production of the 2021 IQOO BattleGround Mobile India Series (IQOO BGIS 2021), the organizers’ requirement was to have a virtual environment without a green background or a LED wall. To achieve this, Tesseract partnered with Nimble XR, a leading virtual production company in India that has been dipping their feet into the esports broadcast market over the past few years – taking the tried and tested ‘battle-proven’ Brainstorm real-time engine and expertise from the world of elections and real-world sports broadcasting and translating it into an esports offering that really delivers.</p>

<p><strong>InfinitySet at Inside Edition</strong></p>



<p>Premiered in 1989, <a href="http://www.insideedition.com/"><strong>Inside Edition</strong></a> is the longest-running syndicated newsmagazine program that is not strictly focused on entertainment news. Brainstorm’s <a href="http://brainstorm3d.com/products/infinityset"><strong>InfinitySet</strong></a> is performing at its best at the heart of this daily production.</p>



<p>Inside Edition is broadcasted from New York city, where <a href="http://www.cbs.com/"><strong>CBS</strong></a> houses the show’s main production facilities and virtual set in a flexible, multi-purpose studio. The virtual set features a number of virtually collapsable screens to host the videos. The presenter is shot in a 40×20 feet (12×6 meters) cyclorama and then immersed in the virtual set using InfinitySet.</p>



<p>The show is shot live, daily, with a technical setup comprising three InfinitySet +Track with InfinitySet Player licenses plus an InfinitySet Controller. The cameras combine two tracked PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) robotic heads plus a specially calibrated tracked crane, all of them sending signals to the Ultimatte Chroma Keyer, which then feeds the video+key signal to the Infinity Set workstations. The whole setup of cameras and InfinitySet is manned by just one operator, which demonstrates an extremely efficient and automated operation.</p>

<p><strong>eStudio, the power behind a long-lasting quiz show</strong></p>



<p>Based on the UK format “The Alphabet Game”, Pasapalabra is, with more than 18 years on-air, one of the most veteran quiz shows in Spain. In 2007 the show started to be broadcasted by Tele 5 with Brainstorm technology.</p>



<p>The show is based on different games which allow two contestants, teaming up with celebrities, to accumulate seconds which then will be used in the final game, the “rosco” which is a virtual wheel with all the letters of the Spanish alphabet. There, contestants will need to answer all the definitions of the wheel, a word per each alphabet letter. What appears to be a simple game turns into a test of culture that has provided some of the highest monetary prizes in Spain’s television history, up to 2.2 million Euros.</p>



<p>When in 2007 Tele 5 started to broadcast the show, the production company counted with Brainstorm Production Services to create the technology for the games and eventually operate the system. This technology allowed to create new look for the show, including new animations for the games and one of the most recognizable moments of the show, the build up of the alphabet wheel, the “Rosco” in Spanish, with all the letters flying to their position. Using Brainstorm’s eStudio, the operators were able to manage the scores, drive the games, launch the sound effects and even activate a button, via GPI, to be able to know which contestant was quicker on answering a given question.</p>



<p>Pasapalabra even made Brainstorm to develop technological concepts such as the “Timed Undo”, a functionality that registers all the clicks and movements during the show. This is crucial in live or “live-to-tape” shows such as this, as it allows the directors to know, in case of failure or pause, the status of the show at that time, including the exact second and the current letter the contestant is at, plus the status at that time (success, mistake or pass). In the Summer of 2018, Xanela, the company that currently produces Pasapalabra, also counted with Brainstorm Production Services for the redesign of the show. Its looks were familiar and well accepted by the audience, but Xanela felt that the new season will require an updated image, while keeping the traditional look and feel the audience appreciates. By following design guidelines provided by Xanela, Brainstorm applied the new line to the existing games and, of course, the alphabet wheel. The logic of the games also required some updating on the score management, audio effects and GPI triggering, while the new graphics implied creating several new elements and updated scripting in some cases. Apart from the redesign, Xanela asked for a new requirement for controlling the studio lights via GPI, so when a contestant scores or fails the general lighting turns red or green accordingly, which is reflected in the public. Also, some design and animation changes in the alphabet wheel required some additional scripting, coupled with visually updated letter containers. Amazingly enough, Pasapalabra is controlled by an extremely simple workflow, involving a single HP workstation with an AJA video board and a GPI card. The eStudio software takes care for the graphics, animations, scores, sound effects and GPI triggering for the whole show.</p>

<p><strong>Chasing aliens with Aston</strong></p>





<p><strong>Ben 10</strong> is an animated series produced by <a href="http://www.cartoonnetwork.es/"><strong>Cartoon Network</strong></a>, about the adventures of Ben Tennyson, a 10 year-old boy who finds a device called Omnitrix, which allows him to transform into a variety of alien creatures.</p>



<p>As it became a successful franchise, Ben 10 has developed further with merchandising and mobile apps. In 2017 Cartoon Network decided to produce a <strong>television contest</strong> based on the franchise, to be broadcasted in Spain, Germany, UK, Italy, France, Poland, Turkey and the UAE.</p>



<p>The <strong>Ben 10 Challenge</strong> required a huge set with two stages and public, plus a gigantic 16-meter wide video wall for continuously showing in-context graphics related to the games. The Challenge was based on a series of quizzes and interactive games, based on the series’ plot, to be performed by the teams formed by parents and sons. This required a <strong>strict control and graphics’ playout management,</strong> as graphics featured the questions, answer’s options, in-out animations, correct and wrong answers, winned prizes, and so on.</p>

<p>Summer Games are essential in any broadcasters’ agenda, as they are 
followed by millions of viewers all around the world, for which all 
major channels invest on large and complex installations to guarantee 
the best coverage.</p>



<p>The <strong>2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro</strong> were no exception, and <strong>RAI</strong>, Radiotelevisione Italiana, sent over a team of professionals backed up by the <strong>latest technology available</strong>
 to create a stunning visual experience for their viewers. To be the 
heart of this installation RAI chose Brainstorm’s eStudio, the 
industry’s fastest 3D graphics and virtual studio engine. Impressing 
viewers is a real challenge today, and following the resounding success 
of the ‘The Voice’ program based on the Brainstorm eStudio virtual 
studio application together with FOR-A and other products, RAI thought 
that the Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro would be an excellent 
opportunity to <strong>enhance their sports programing</strong>. </p>
