Its renowned The Media Arts department offers graduate and undergraduate degrees in a variety of media areas including, news production, film production and producing, video game design, media industries. media and cultural studies, and media theory.

The Media Arts Department at the University of North Texas updated its television studios with Brainstorm’s InfinitySet, offering students hands-on experience using modern virtual production technology.

Broadley Studios – Virtual Production

Broadley Studio is a fully equipped film & TV, live streaming and virtual production facility in central London. Partnering with Red Robin Films, and using InfinitySet, they produced a groundbreaking virtual reality music video for Oliver Anderson’s newest single “Saviour”.

Gradient for JAB: A remotely produced trans-atlantic virtual event

Gradient is a US-based full-service creative agency with experience at its core–operating in all dimensions. They create visceral human connections with lasting impact and believe in designing unparalleled experiences, whether in real life or virtually, driving human connection enhanced by innovative technology to generate results.

JAB, a widely known investment firm, relied on Gradient Experiential to produce and stream their annual investor conference, produced directly from JAB’s office in London and simultaneously fed across the world into one seamless platform. Quite a challenge for a virtual production!

Crambo for Spain’s Olympic Committee

Crambo is official sponsor of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), and their mission is to propose technological solutions to overcome specific challenges they may encounter in their broadcast activities promoting olympic sports.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games were delayed to 2021 because of the COVID pandemic, but even one year later there were still many restrictions on events in public spaces due to the on-going pandemic, and the organization still did not allow public access to the Olympic areas.

During the event, the COE wanted to maintain the contact of the athletes in Tokyo with the rest of the people in Spain: family, friends, and the press, especially when medals were won. To achieve this, Crambo thought on Edison PRO to solvethe problem of distance with athletes in Tokyo. Edison allows to take people from different physical locations and gather them on the same virtual set, so the idea seemed perfectly suited for this project and Crambo decided to carry it out.

Streaming Colombia is an events company whose DNA is permanent innovation. Apart from its experience with face-to-face events of all kinds, both corporate presentations and specific events or business meetings, the company’s spirit has always been to stand out from the competition, and for this they have invested in creativity, passion and innovation.

During the pandemic, given the difficulty of maintaining the usual in-person and physical events calendar, Streaming Colombia saw both a crisis and an opportunity, and decided to bet fully on virtual events, an area that they had previously explored. And, after an intense search for a technological partner that could accompany them in their vision, Juan Pablo Prieto Sánchez, CEO and co-founder of this company, decided to bet on Brainstorm’s Edison PRO, a product that at that time was starting its commercial journey, but at the same time was supported by a solid company and its proven advanced technology.

Media Fuel for Thursday Pools – A tropical island in winter time for a dealer conference

MediaFuel is a cutting-edge digital marketing agency that helps customers in a variety of ways, now using virtual technology taking advantage of their large installations featuring a 30×60 ft (9×18 meters) green screen. Because of their experience in virtual events, seminars and broadcasts, they provide a unique service to all kinds of customers.

One of these customers is Thursday Pools, a custom fiber glass pool manufacturer in the greater Indianapolis area. They hold a dealer conference every year, but in 2020, due to COVID, it got cancelled. When MediaFuel was told, they started to figure out alternatives, and proposed to put together a virtual event for this conference.

MediaFuel proposed to broadcast the event from a tropical island, and within six weeks they managed to create a virtual set of an island adding in the island, the palm trees, the waves, some tiki furniture, and other props, along with some interactive supporting graphics.

The setup consisted in two different virtual sets, one for each of the two sections the event consisted on, along with additional video content, lots of graphics throughout the course of the whole program.

MediaFuel used a two-camera setup with a TrackFree InfinitySet to control the whole workflow and deliver the final content, in a mixed SDI and NDI environment.

By using virtual production, Thursday Pools were able to hold the annual dealer conference as usual, while adding a twist that not only was welcome by all parties but also created a great event. This virtual event allowed the company to bridge the social distancing gap and avoid travel restrictions to re-connect with their audiences when the human necessity to feel connected became essential.

Nimble XR and Tesseract Esports – XR Set Extensions and AR Graphics for IQOO BGIS

The Esports event IQOO BGIS 2021 took advantage of the vast experience and graphics expertise of Nimble XR and Tesseract Esports, with the creation of XR set extension and AR graphics for the live event, inspired by game visuals.

Tesseract Esports was founded in 2015 to elevate and transform the nascent gaming scene in South and Southeast Asia into a high profile and professional esport. Tesseract were also among the first to produce the biggest and most successful esports events and gaming activations in India at an unprecedented scale, paving the way for the growth of esports in the country. They have since gone to partner with game publishers, developers, brands and media platforms to produce large scale esports events and engagements and become one of the leading esports production houses in the Asia-Pacific.

For the production of the 2021 IQOO BattleGround Mobile India Series (IQOO BGIS 2021), the organizers’ requirement was to have a virtual environment without a green background or a LED wall. To achieve this, Tesseract partnered with Nimble XR, a leading virtual production company in India that has been dipping their feet into the esports broadcast market over the past few years – taking the tried and tested ‘battle-proven’ Brainstorm real-time engine and expertise from the world of elections and real-world sports broadcasting and translating it into an esports offering that really delivers.

BMG for NATAS – The 48th Daytime Emmys Awards ceremony goes virtual

Following an online edition in 2020, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) shifted to a fully remote format for its 2021 edition, marking the first awards show in the USA to be produced in a completely virtual environment.

The Daytime Emmy Awards are an American accolade bestowed by the New York–based National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) in recognition of excellence in American daytime television programming.

Like with many other live events, the global pandemic, along with its restrictions and safety recommendations, forced to review the way events were conceived. In 2021, the Daytime Emmy Awards organisers decided the show should remain live on- line for a second consecutive year due to uncertainty over the COVID-19 pandemic, and relied on international television production company Broadcast Management Group (BMG) and the experience the company had gained by using InfinitySet for transforming real productions into virtual live events.

BMG, leader in creating and producing live Augmented Reality broadcasts, partnered with NATAS in order to produce together two state-of-the-art live virtual Daytime Emmy Award shows. BMG executed the show using centralised technology and decentralised staffing by utilising its state-of-the-art REMI Broadcast Hub with InfinitySet in Las Vegas (Nevada), and its multi-camera REMI field packages.

BMG built two green screen sets and a hard set on location at ATI Studios in Burbank (California), with a total of five 4K PTZcameras between these 2 sets plus four studio cameras for the hard set. The team in Burbank included the show hosts, award presenters and recipients, and an extensive production crew that teamed up with the staff located in Chicago (Illinois) that included the virtual set technical director who operated the InfinitySet physically located in the BMG REMI Broadcast Hub in Las Vegas.

BMG utilized a TrackFreeTM version of InfinitySet along with Unreal Engine to render the 5 camera feeds coming from the green screen studios in Burbank and operate the virtual set, and seamlessly managed more than 100 remote feeds per show of nominees and award recipients from locations around the world, brought in via Zoom.

EA Sports is the subsidiary of Electronic Arts, which develops sports video games, among which is the famous football (soccer) game FIFA, which is licensed by the International Football Federation (FIFA).

LaLiga and EA SPORTS introduced the Team Of The Season (TOTS) awards in 2022, with the aim of rewarding the best players of the year in our competition, and partnered with Hi-End to create a top- quality online event.
